8:40 a.m., a half ton of rebar worth approximately $1,000 was reported missing from a site in the 3300 block of Urbancrest Industrial Drive. The property had last been seen at 5 the previous afternoon.
Shelby Lawrence Bell, 42, of Columbus was charged with theft at 1:25 p.m. in the 1600 block of Stringtown Road for allegedly attempting to steal a frame swimming pool valued at $399 from a store.
Rocky L. Chevalier, 27, of Crooksville was charged with endangering children at 2:15 p.m. in the 6100 block of South Meadows Drive. According to the report, an officer sent to the area regarding a child left unattended in a vehicle found a 4-year-old inside a car that was unlocked but running. The boy's hair and T-shirt were soaked with sweat, and the outside temperature was 81 degrees, the report stated. The driver was charged, the officer wrote, after being tracked down through his employer.
Danny L. Jones, 50, of Lancaster was charged with OVI, endangering children and failure to control at 4:39 p.m. in the 2400 block of Stringtown Road. An officer dispatched to a store's parking lot regarding a possibly intoxicated driver found the suspect behind the wheel of a van damaged from having hit a light pole.
Robert S. Tingler, 23, of 1729 Willow Wind was charged with disorderly conduct at 4:56 p.m. at the Big Splash, 2831 Southwest Blvd. According to the report, the suspected was being escorted off the water park property by employees when an officer arrived. He appeared to be highly intoxicated, the officer wrote, and was transported to Mount Carmel Hospital after the people with him said he had taken an unknown quantity of prescription medication.
Farzad Abari, 47, of Columbus was charged with possession of drugs and Randall Joseph Hoye, 38, of Columbus was charged with theft at 7:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Stringtown Road. The latter was accused of stealing two GPS devices from a store worth a total of $349.98. Both were taken into custody following a subsequent traffic stop at Home and Old Home roads after the devices were observed being thrown from the vehicle.
9:21 a.m., breaking and entering and theft were reported in the 3900 block of Broadway. Entry was made through a rear door sometime after 11 the previous evening, according to the report. Missing were $600 in cash and $60,000 worth of narcotics, the report stated.
Aaron R. Dickens, 41, of Columbus was charged with theft at 6:14 p.m. in the 2800 block of London-Groveport Road for allegedly attempting to shoplift $165.91 worth of new clothing after a store's employees refused his attempt at returning some used pairs of pants.
11:30 p.m., an aggravated robbery was reported in the 3000 block of London-Groveport Road. According to the report, the suspect initially attempted to purchase beer but was refused because he did not have identification. He then sought to buy some candy and when the cash drawer was opened claimed to have a gun. He fled after failing in an attempt at grabbing some of the cash, according to the report.
12:58 p.m., a resident in the 2300 block of Hooverside Lane reported the theft of a certificate of deposit worth $10,000. The victim said she took it out on May 22. In reviewing her monthly statements, the woman told police she did not see the certificate of deposit listed. Bank officials, she said, told her it had been cashed five days after being taken out.
Timothy A. Bennett, 28, of 2909 Columbus St. was charged with receiving stolen property at 3:23 p.m. in the 3100 block of Columbus Street. According to the report, a bicycle valued at $60 was reported stolen on June 15. It was later found at a consignment store and, according to the report, the suspect was identified by an employee through a photo lineup.
Between 10 p.m. June 15 and 6 a.m. June 16, in the 3200 block of Jackson Pike: Workers reported an intruder damaged a window and a door, entered and stole a $4,000 big screen television. Damage was put at $1,300.
Between 11:15 and 11:35 a.m. June 12, in the 5100 block of Norton Road: A man reported a known person made about 20 threatening telephone calls to his residence.
Between 8 and 10 a.m. June 14, in the 3300 block of Urban Hollow Court, Urbancrest: A resident reported a thief stole 50 Vicoden pills from this residence.
June 11, U.S. Route 62 south of Briggs Road: Deputies charged Dedrick Hutter, 33, of 3285 Bluhm Court with a felony count of drug abuse.
June 12, 5576 Beatty Road: Deputies charged Brandon L. Coplan, 19, of this address with aggravated menacing and domestic violence.
12:37 a.m. June 11, Certified, 1093 Frank Road: A clerk reported two men initially asked for a pack of cigarettes. One of them pulled a large black handgun, pointed it at the clerk's face and demanded money from the register. The clerk complied and they fled.
Between 7:40 and 8:20 a.m. June 12, in the 1600 block of Elm Creek Drive: A woman reported she was awakened by an intruder who had broke into her house. The intruder opened the door to her bedroom, waking her. The intruder fled, taking her purse containing $8, credit cards, keys and identification and a $150 electronic picture frame.
Between 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. June 14, in the 1900 block of Brown Road: A man reported a thief stole his $10,000 Chevrolet C2500 from his residence.
2:55 a.m. June 9, in the 2400 block of Willow View Court: A woman reported her son heard glass break and found a $150 window on the rear of the residence had been broken. He looked out and saw a shadow. The intruder had put a ladder up to the window. No entry was made.
Between 5:20 and 6:20 a.m. June 10, in the 1500 block of Anderly Drive: A woman reported an intruder kicked in a rear door on her residence and stole a $1,500 television and a XBox360.
Between 7:50 and 9 a.m. June 12, in the 1500 block of Elm Creek Drive: A man reported an intruder broke into his residence, but stole nothing.
Between 5 p.m. June 11 and noon June 12, in the 2400 block of Indian Creek Court: A man reported a thief pried a lock off a shed in his rear yard and stole over $3,100 worth of items.
Between noon June 10 and 3 p.m. June 12, in the 2400 block of Blue Rock Boulevard: A man reported a vandal caused $250 damage to his door jamb.
Between 12:01 a.m. and 5 p.m. June 9, in the 1800 block of Rockcreek Drive: A worker reported a vandal stabbed an air conditioning unit six times, causing $1,100 damage.
Thefts from or vandalism to autos was reported from: the 2300 block of Royal Creek and the 2400 block of Norview courts, the 2300 block of Turquoise and the 1600 block of Elmcreek drives.
June 10, Jackson Pike north of Dyer Road: Troopers charged Mark A. Such, 31, of 6305 Lakeview Drive East with falsification, taking the identity of another, obstructing official business and forgery in connection with a May 26 incident.
