Free, gently used back-to-school clothes are now part of the lineup of items to be offered to single parents on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Grove City Church of the Nazarene.

This is an addition to the "Single Parent Family Fun Day" program taking place in the church's Food Court that day from noon to 2:20 p.m.

The single-parent gathering at the church will offer free backpacks filled with school supplies to those who have preregistered by Sunday, Aug. 10.

Those interested may sign up before and after church services at a table in foyer or by calling the church at 875-2551, extension 253.

Also being offered as part of "Single Parent Fun Day" will be free lunches, free car washes, games, door prizes and free haircuts and nail polishing in the salon. A limited number of nail and hair treatments will be offered because of time constraints.

"Single Parent Family Fun Day" is one aspect of a wider array of projects being organized by the church for that day. More than 1,000 volunteers are expected to participate in "Revolutionary Love," washing cars, making home repairs and doing general community cleanup.
