The eighth annual Chili Supper for the Grove City Girls' Club will take place on Friday, March 6.

It will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Columbus-Grove City Elks Lodge No. 37, 2140 Sonora Drive.

The cost is $6 a person.

The menu will include chili, hot chicken sandwiches, cole slaw and cornbread. Entertainment will be provided by Tony Minnear.

A 50-50 raffle also is on tap for the evening.

All proceeds will benefit the girls assisted by the organization.

The goal of the Grove City Girls' Club is to assist the children of the community who may not otherwise have the benefit of qualifying for various government or charitable programs.

"In addition," according to the mission statement, "we would like to provide support for the parents of these children, so that they may be better able to contribute positively towards their child's needs. We would hope to make a difference in a child's life -- whether financially, physically, emotionally or however the opportunity arises."
