The Gardens at Gantz Farm Volunteers will present their 11th Annual Spring Garden Symposium, "Nature's Palette," on Saturday, March 21,

It will run from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Guest speakers for the day will include Stefanie Suter, habitat conservationist for the Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District.

"Stefanie will teach us about rain gardens, how they work and how to install and maintain them," according to a spokeswoman.

Gantz Farm Volunteer Luann Jackson, a gardening, cooking and entertaining enthusiast, will present "Growing and Cooking with Fresh Herbs through the Seasons."

Herbal Theatrics returns with "A Heavenly Visit with Chocolate and Bay." Bay is the 2009 Herb of the Year.

Stephen Foltz, horticultural director of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, will conclude with a slide presentation of "Best Annuals-Zoo's Best Picks."

The cost for the day is $45, which includes a continental breakfast, four sessions and lunch. Preregistration is required by contacting the farm office at 871-6323.
