Officials with the Grove City Division of Police are seeking the public's assistance in an attempted break-in at the Kenstar Pharmacy, 3995 Broadway.

The would-be burglar or burglars struck at 12:11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, according to the announcement.

"The suspect was caught on video surveillance breaking the glass door with what appears to be a hammer and reaching his arm inside the door to unlock it from the inside," the prepared statement said. "When this failed, the suspect left the business without making entry."

The suspect was wearing a white visor and a white bandanna over his face. It is thought he was driving a vehicle captured on the videotape. Another vehicle was observed on the tape entering the rear parking lot. Police suspect it's possible the driver of this vehicle was acting as a lookout.

Stills from the surveillance tape may be viewed on the Grove City Web site, www.grovecityohio.gov. Under "City Departments," click on police and then select on "Crime Alerts" on the left side of the page.

Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is asked to contact the police at 277-1710. Anonymous tips may be left at 277-1808.
