The dressbarn store in Grove City as well as other locations will be selling a "heart bracelet" beginning May 1 to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

The bracelets will be sold through Aug. 31, or while supplies last, for $5.

"Dressbarn will contribute the entire net profit of $2.50 to the American Cancer Society," according to the announcement.

"This is our way of supporting all of those brave men and women who are dealing with the hardships of cancer," Annette Stacy, district sales manager for dressbarn in Grove City, was quoted as saying in the announcement. "At dressbarn, we believe people come first, and it is important to embrace organizations like the American Cancer Society, who go above and beyond in their efforts. Community organizations such as the American Cancer Society have a strong impact on our customers, associates and their families. And, we are happy to involve the Grove City community in this very important effort."

This year, dressbarn is continuing its annual participation as an American Cancer Society Relay for Life National Corporate Team Program member for 2009.

Relay for Life is the largest global cancer fighting movement that unites communities across the world to raise awareness and funds to support the American Cancer Society's research and programs.
