As he promised at the June 15 City Council meeting, at-large Councilman Michael Uhrin has formed the Businesses for the Levy Committee.

The committee, he announced last week, "is seeking to unite and educate the Grove City business community about the economic impact of a failed levy through a series of informal presentations."

Chairman Uhrin, the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsor Gary Shyu will be holding a series of open discussions about Issue 2, the 8.3-mill, four-year South-Western City Schools levy, and its potential effects on Grove City businesses.

The first meeting will be held today (Thursday, June 25) at 5:30 p.m. at the China Bell Restaurant and Event Center, 1947 Stringtown Road.

Additional meetings are scheduled for Thursday, July 9; Thursday, July 16; Thursday, July 23; and Thursday, July 30.

Times and locations will be announced at a later date.

Interested participants are asked to RSVP by contacting Uhrin at councilmanuhrin@gmail.com.
