Grove City, Jackson Township, Keep Grove City Beautiful and Local Waste Services are working together to host Community Environmental Day 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1 at the Jackson Township Administration Building, 3756 Hoover Road.

Fireproof Records will offer safe, secure document shredding; Possitivity Green, a private nonprofit organization dedicated to 100 percent no-landfill recycling and re-use of e-wastes, will be on hand to collect computers and electronics (but no televisions).

The cost is $15 for each CRT monitor that is brought in for disposal. Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church will offer printer cartridge recycling. St. John Lutheran Church will collect cell phones and the Grove City Lions Clubs will collect eyewear for redistribution.

Residents also can dispose of major appliances; construction materials; shrubs; bushes and other yard waste for chipping; trash; and tires, (limit four per household). No household hazardous waste will be accepted. The 2010 Household Hazardous Waste Collection will be held Saturday, Oct. 16.
