Three car shows will be held July 31, Aug. 21 and Sept. 25 as fundraisers to benefit a family that lost two children in a house fire in May.

The events will be organized by Tim Templin, a neighbor of Misty Hodge and Jamie Gillespie when their Gantz Road house caught fire. The couple's children - Abigail Marie Hodge, 4, and Joshua Allen Gillespie, 2 - died and Gillespie was badly injured.

The auto shows will be at Discount Drug Mart, 2290 Stringtown Road. Registration, at $5 per vehicle entered, will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at each event. Awards will be presented at 4 p.m.

The shows will be open to all makes and models of cars and trucks.

"We will have door prizes and some trivia for prizes," Templin said. "Discount Drug Mart is giving away hot dogs and drinks. People can make donations. The trophies for the show in July were donated by Hugh at Classic Resurrections (2160 Southwest Blvd.). A lot of other businesses have donated prizes for the show."

Anyone who would like to make a donation for a door prize may contact Templin at (614) 539-5336 or gccruise_in@yahoo.com.
