Assistance League, Metro Columbus Chapter, annual spring luncheon and fashion show, "Flowers, Fashion & Fun," 11 a.m. April 20 at the Makoy Center in Hilliard. Event includes a cash bar, luncheon, a silent auction and fashion show featuring spring and summer clothes from Chico's. Tickets are $35 and should be purchased by April 12. This nonprofit, all-volunteer organization is dedicated to helping restore hope to women and children who have suffered adversity. All funds raised remain in Franklin County. City of Grove City and Keep Grove City Beautiful, rain barrel workshops for residents of Grove City and Jackson Township only, 9 to 10:30 a.m. April 13 at the Eagle Pavilion, 3670 Discovery Drive in Fryer Park, 3899 Orders Road. Additional sessions are planned for 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 24 and May 8 at the Eagle Pavilion. Topics covered include the importance of water conservation, the benefits of rain barrels and how rain barrels are made and installed. The workshop fee of $50 includes a ready-to-be installed, 60-gallon black rain barrel; participants should be prepared to take it with them. Adoption and Foster Care Information Program, 7:30 p.m. April 23 at the Grove City YMCA in conference room A, 3600 Discovery Drive. This free program will feature representatives of adoptive families, foster care families, adoption agencies, adoption lawyers, international adoption information and information on caring for those in orphanages in other countries. Meet and Greet for TWIG, an auxiliary of Nationwide Children's Hospital, 6 to 8 p.m. April 16 at the Wine Bistro in Upper Arlington, 1750 W. Lane Ave., Suite 100. Prospective members are invited for complimentary hors d'oeuvres and an opportunity to learn more about membership.
