Fall baseball registration begins
The Grove City Parks and Recreation Department is holding registration for fall youth baseball during June.
Interested participants may sign up at City Hall, 4035 Broadway, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, June 28. The office will be open until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25. Registrations accepted after June 28 will be assessed a $20 late fee.
Children and teens between the ages of 5 and 17 who live in Grove City or Jackson Township are eligible to participate. Participants who reside outside the city/township corporate limits are eligible to play but are required to pay an additional $10 non-resident fee. For fall, league assignments are based upon the player's age as of April 30, and Aug. 1 for T-ball players (5 years old). First-time registrants must bring the participant's birth certificate, proof of Grove City residency (i.e. current utility bill, current check stub or bank statement) and payment.
Practices begin Aug. 5. Opening day for the 10-game season is Aug. 24. Games are held at Windsor Park, 4330 Dudley Ave.
Volunteer coaches are needed; applications may be picked up at City Hall. Paid umpire positions are also available.
