The city of Grove City and Keep Grove City Beautiful will host rain barrel workshops for residents of Grove City and Jackson Township this August.
The first session is set for 9 to 10: 30 a.m. Aug. 10 at the Eagle Pavilion, 3670 Discovery Drive, in Fryer Park, 3899 Orders Road.
The second will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 14 at City Hall, 4035 Broadway.
During the workshop, participants learn the importance of water conservation, the benefits of rain barrels and how rain barrels are made and installed. The workshop fee of $50 includes a ready-to-be installed, 60-gallon black rain barrel. Participants should be prepared to take it with them. For an additional $10, participants can upgrade to a 60-gallon decorative rain barrel with diverter. Photos of the three upgrade barrel options are posted on the website at GroveCityOhio.gov.
Registration is required. To sign up, call the Grove City Parks and Recreation Department at 614-277-3050.
