Festival set for next weekend at OLPH

The Our Lady of Perpetual Help Community Festival will run from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, Aug.16 and Saturday, Aug. 17, in the parking lots surrounding the church, at 3730 Broadway in Grove City.

Free parking is available onsite, and admission is free.

This is the festival's 26th year running, and , for the first time, tours of the sanctuary will be offered to interested visitors. Staffers will be on hand to explain the meaning behind various stained glass windows and artwork as well as share some behind the scenes workings of a typical Catholic church.

A raffle will be offered. Prizes top out at $5,000, and only 2,000 tickets will be sold. The silent auction opens with a wine and cheese party from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday and features items from local merchants and Our Lady ministries in the parish Life Center.

Live entertainment includes Irish dancers at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16. They will be followed on the main stage by "Rated E" at 6:45 p.m. and "Ladies of Longford" from 8 to 11 p.m.

The entertainment lineup for Saturday, Aug. 17, will showcase the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cheerleaders and GCKA Cheerleaders at 6 p.m., "Canned Goods" at 6:45 p.m. and "English Project" from 8 to 11 p.m.
