Local woman is struck, killed on I-71 after running out of gas
A 29-year-old Pleasant Township woman was struck and killed as she tried to cross Interstate 71 after her car ran out of gas Sept. 23.
Ashley S. Dennison's car stopped on the east side of southbound I-71 north of Stringtown Road shortly after noon, Franklin County sheriff's investigators said.
Dennison called her boyfriend for help and was on the opposite side of the freeway when he arrived, Cpl. Thad Lookabaugh said.
She attempted to cross back to her car and was struck by a vehicle driven by Nichole Dangelo, 24, of Cincinnati.
The southbound lanes of I-71 were closed for a few hours after the crash.
