Grove City will host its first Volunteer Fair from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Evans Center, 4330 Dudley Ave.
The event is organized in a fashion similar to a job fair, with representatives from various organizations on hand to share information about their causes and to aid those interested in volunteering their time and talents. Participants can walk in at any time during the event and talk to people representing areas that interest them. The fair includes refreshments and a raffle.
Grove City has offered volunteer opportunities for teens through the V.I.P. program and for older adults through Evans Center programs. The focus of the event is to help community-minded adults connect with organizations that need assistance, often for projects smaller in scope or duration than what many service organizations take on. Anyone under the age of 16 should be accompanied by an adult.
