President Barack Obama named 102 researchers as recipients of the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers, the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers.

President Barack Obama named 102 researchers as recipients of the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers, the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers.

The winners will receive their awards at a Washington, D. C., ceremony in 2014. Among the winners was Dr. Greg Pitz of the Air Force Research Laboratory.

Pitz, the son of Greg and Jennie Pitz of Grove City, is a 1995 graduate of Wayne High School. He graduated from Wright State University and received his PhD. from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He currently resides in Albuquerque, N.M.
