Buckeye Region Anti-Violence Organization and Deaf World Against Violence Everywhere, third annual Race to Eliminate Sexual Violence 5K Run/Walk, 9 a.m. April 26 at Wolfe Park in Bexley. This event was created to raise awareness and provide information about sexual violence, to promote financial support of victim service agencies and create social change. Advance registration is $27.50 until the week of the race, when the fee increases to $32.50. Registration includes a T-shirt and a goodie bag. Heart of Ohio Tole Chapter, 34th annual convention "Hats Off To Painting," Aug. 11-16 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, 400 N. High St., Columbus. During the event, the chapter will offer painting classes in a variety of skill levels and mediums A color catalog of classes, with registration information, is available at heartofohiotole.org. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Mount Carmel Health System, Walk with a Doc program, 8:30 a.m. the first and third Saturday of the month through March at the YMCA track. The walks are free for anyone interested in taking steps to improve their health. A doctor will be on hand to answer questions and talk with people.
