Mother and son speakers Cindy and Shane Parsons will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Life Center, 3730 Broadway, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, to discuss the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Wounded Warrior Project serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after Sept. 11, 2001 and provides services for their families.
Cindy Parsons is a speaker and advocate for the Wounded Warrior Project. U.S. Army Sergeant Shane Parsons, Retired was severely wounded in Rhamadi, Iraq in 2006 and has been helped by the organization.
The program will feature a choir singing patriotic songs, presentation of colors, Knights of Columbus escort and refreshments. It will provide background of the organization and offer ways for people to get involved.
The event is sponsored by the Our Lady of Victory Parish and Knights of Columbus Council 4603.
