The South-Western City Schools Educational Foundation's annual golf outing will be held June 10 at Pinnacle Golf Club, 1500 Pinnacle Club Drive, Grove City.
"It's a great opportunity to get to play at Pinnacle, which is a private course. You generally need to be invited by a member to play there," said Mike Spiers, chairman of the event.
"Plus it's just a good way to support the foundation," he said. "All the money we raise after expenses goes toward our scholarship fund and our program to award grants to South-Western teachers."
The golf outing begins with registration and use of the driving range at 8:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
Once the day's golf is completed, an Italian buffet lunch will be served in the club.
A number of prizes will be offered, including those for longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin.
"We'll also have some prize categories for those of us who aren't the greatest golfers," Spiers said.
A hole in one -- if someone makes one -- will earn the lucky golfer a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze from Jack Maxton Chevrolet.
"We've had really close ones, like within one foot of the hole," Spiers said. "They want to give the car away. Maybe this will be the year."
The cost for the outing, including golf cart, is $125 per person or $500 for a foursome.
Those who pay by Friday, May 30, will receive a $10 per person or $40 per foursome discount.
Registration forms also can be mailed to 3805 Marlane Drive, Grove City 43123.
The golf outing serves as one of the major fundraisers for the educational foundation.
Last year's event raised about $5,000, Spiers said.
Earlier this month, the foundation awarded 106 scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000, he said.
Grants to teachers are announced each fall.
