The South-Western Board of Education approved the appointment of two new assistant principals as part of a light agenda at its June 25 meeting.
Tori Fedak will be the new assistant principal at Franklin Heights High School beginning July 17.
Fedak served last year as dean of students at Pataskala Elementary School in the Southwest Licking Local School District. Before that assignment, Fedak worked nine years as a social studies teacher at Southwest Licking's Watkins Memorial High School.
She will also serve as Franklin Heights' athletic director. Fedak has coaching experience, including several years as Watkins Memorial's varsity volleyball coach.
Fedak was slated to return to Watkins Memorial next school year as dean of students before accepting the Franklin Heights position.
The board also approved hiring Tyler Winner as assistant principal at Norton Middle School effective Aug. 7.
Winner previously served as a math teacher at Gahanna Lincoln High School and earlier taught math at Westerville South High School.
Fedak and Winner each were given two-year contracts.
Both administrators were introduced at the board meeting.
"I've had the chance to coach at Franklin Heights so I know the diversity of the building," Fedak said. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to grow" as an educator in her new assignment.
"This is an exciting time for me and my family," Winner said. "I'm thankful to the district to give me this opportunity. It's exciting to take this position at Norton."
