Mangette named coach at Central Crossing

By

Anthony Mangette, who previously coached in the program, has returned to lead the Central Crossing High School boys basketball team.

Mangette, 41, replaces Mike Cavey, who resigned March 13. He accepted the position May 5.

Mangette was the junior varsity boys coach at Central Crossing from 2002-09. His previous coaching experience also includes leading the Grandview baseball team in 1998 and 1999.

“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to coach at Central Crossing,” Mangette said. “I think that there is a lot of potential among the players and there is a great support system from the teachers and administrators. …

“I hope to establish a culture of winning by providing a positive environment based on energy, enthusiasm and effort. My desire is that our players will be good stewards of our team, school and community.”

Last season, the Comets went 0-21 overall and 0-14 in the OCC-Central Division.
