The Grove City Christian girls track and field team placed third in the MOCAL meet May 18 at Worthington Christian.
The Eagles scored 66 points to finish behind Fairfield Christian (154) and Tree of Life (97) and ahead of Madison Christian (57), Gahanna Christian (53) and Delaware Christian (40).
Makayla Harr won the discus (76 feet) and Kasey Hogan placed second in the 400 meters (1 minute, 3.1 seconds).
The boys team finished fourth (74) in the MOCAL meet behind Gahanna Christian (183), Fairfield Christian (119) and Tree of Life (113) and ahead of Madison Christian (59).
The boys and girls teams are competing in the Division III district meet this week at Hamilton Township.
The meet began May 21, continued May 22 and concludes Saturday, May 25.
The top four finishers in each district event advance to the regional meet Wednesday, May 29, and May 31 at Fairfield Union.
Softball team ousted from district tourney
Seeded fourth of 16 teams in the Division IV district tournament, the softball team lost to fifth-seeded Newark Catholic 7-0 in the second round May 16 at home to drop to 16-8 overall.
The Eagles defeated 12th-seeded Granville Christian 14-4 in five innings in the first round May 14 at home.
Grove City Christian played Gahanna Christian on May 21 looking to clinch the outright MOCAL championship. The Eagles entered the game 10-1 in the league ahead of second-place Madison Christian, which is 7-2 with three contests to be rescheduled.
Baseball team falls in tourney opener
Seeded 10th of 15 teams in the Division IV district tournament, the baseball team lost to seventh-seeded Shekinah Christian 10-0 in five innings in the first round May 13 to finish 6-14 overall.
The Eagles finished 6-4 in the MOCAL.
