Grove City girls out to build streak

The Grove City High School girls basketball team is looking to gain momentum as the regular season draws to a close.

The Greyhounds had won three consecutive games and were 8-9 overall after defeating Briggs 63-31 on Jan. 27.

Jen Draper and Gina Conti each scored 14 points and Megan Darst had 12.

Grove City's league game against visiting Groveport was postponed Jan. 24 because of bad weather and rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 5. The Greyhounds were 1-8 in the OCC-Ohio Division before playing Newark on Jan. 29.

Grove City won at Watkins Memorial 60-41 on Jan. 21.

Jen Draper scored 21 points, while Gina Conti and Bree Kilgus each scored 12 and Kayla Mitchell added 10.

Grove City boys look to remain in OCC race

The Grove City boys team is 11-4 overall and 5-3 in the OCC-Ohio. Its home game against Newark on Jan. 28 was postponed and rescheduled for Feb. 11.

The Greyhounds entered the week fourth in the league behind Pickerington Central (8-1) and Gahanna and Newark (both 7-2).

Grove City's league game at Groveport on Jan. 24 was postponed because of bad weather and rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 1.

The Greyhounds defeated visiting Dublin Jerome 72-69 on Jan. 21. Nick Bapst scored 24 of his 30 points in the second half, while Drew Bapst had 12 points and Kyle Laffin scored 11.

Central Crossing boys lose at Davidson

The Central Crossing boys team lost an OCC-Central game at Hilliard Davidson 58-47 on Jan. 24.

The Comets were outscored 17-6 in the second quarter and trailed 29-20 at halftime. Clay Luebben led Central Crossing with 11 points.

The Comets lost at Lancaster 71-62 on Jan. 21 as Andrew Russell scored 18 points and Marc Russell had 11.

Central Crossing was 3-13 overall and 0-9 in the OCC-Central before playing Upper Arlington on Jan. 28.

Central Crossing girls end losing streak

The Central Crossing girls team stopped a four-game losing streak with a 40-35 win over visiting Dublin Scioto on Jan. 25.

Michaela Dorsey led the Comets with 17 points.

Central Crossing lost at home to Davidson 47-31 in a league game Jan. 24. Dorsey had nine points.

The Comets' league win came at Davidson 35-23 on Dec. 13.

They were 4-13 overall and 1-9 in the OCC-Central before playing Upper Arlington on Jan. 28.
