The Hilliard Rowing Association girls high school club team will compete in its third and final regatta of the spring when it travels Saturday to the Governor's Cup on Griggs Reservoir.
Last Saturday, Hilliard did not score at the Hoover Invitational Regatta on Hoover Reservoir as the Cincinnati Junior Rowing Club captured the title with 157.
Northfield (Ill) New Trier finished second (144.5). Among area programs, Westerville finished third (143) and Dublin was eighth (23).
Hilliard took third in its heat of the Women's Varsity 8 (8:08.05) but failed to advance to the final. It also was fifth in its heat of the Women's Varsity 4 (9:51.35).
On the Varsity 8 boat were Jessica Duckro, Alexis Caldwell, Jazmine Singer, Polly Long, Megan Griffin, Madi Powell, Abby Cornwell, Abby Russell and coxswain Paige Pelligrino.
"They ended up canceling all of the 4s and doubles finals (because of bad weather) and my 8 did not make it to the final, but they were extremely pleased with how they did," coach Liz Lucas said. "They felt like they stuck with the other boats and were very excited.
"We'll put our same lightweight 4 out there again for the Governor's Cup and we're going to put out a Senior 4, which should be fun for our last regatta of the year."
Hilliard did not score at the Governor's Cup last year which also was won by Cincinnati (359).
Westerville won its first Governor's Cup title in 2006.
