Hilliard's Fourth of July parade route will be changed this year.

Hilliard's Fourth of July parade route will be changed this year.

The parade will start at the Columbia Street entrance to the county fairgrounds at 10 a.m. It will proceed along Norwich Street to its normal along Cemetery Road, crossing Main Street and onto Scioto Darby Road. The parade will end at Heritage Middle School, police said.

Columbia Street will be closed to traffic from Norwich to the fairgrounds starting at 7 a.m.

The parade will form at 9 a.m. Police are asking participants in the parade to use Northwest Parkway off Leap Road to access the entrance at the back of the fairgrounds. A drop-off zone will be established at Main Street and Avery Road for people walking in the parade

People who want to pick up participants in the parade should pick them at in the parking lot of Darby High School.

Police said they will establish a no-parking zone on Norwich Street so people can watch the parade.

This year's route was changed because of construction on Main Street, which was part of last year's route, and at the Norwich Township Joint Safety Service Building, where the parade had formed in the past.
