This year's Fourth of July Parade theme is "Together We Stand." Register for the parade with Jerry Baum at (614) 937-5330. The parade begins at 10 a.m., departing from the Franklin County Fairgrounds.

Fourth of July activities include the Hilliard Community Band at 2 p.m. at Municipal Park; awards for parade winners at 7 p.m. in Municipal Park; The Ravens at 7;30 p.m. in the amphitheater; and fireworks at 9:45 p.m. (Rain date for fireworks is Saturday, July 5).

American Red Cross babysitting will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 28 and July 19. The class focuses on leadership, safety, basic care and professionalism. Cost is $50 for city residents; $55 for school district residents.

Creative Movement for preschool children age 3-5 will be held June 30-July 3 from 9 to 9:40 a.m. Both large and small motor skills are covered. Cost is $30 for city residents; $35 for school district residents.

Tap dance for ages 3-5 will meet at 10 a.m. June 30-July 3. Cost is $30 for city residents; $35 for school district residents.

Art Camp will be held the week of July 7-11 -- mornings for ages 6-8 and afternoons for ages 8-11. The program is led by Hilliard City Schools art teacher Jane Koch. Cost is $70/$75 for ages 6-8; $80/$85 for ages 8-11.

Jump Rope I for children age 6-12 will be offered June 30-July 3 from 9 to 10 a.m. Jump rope basics and games will be taught. Cost is $20 for residents; $25 for non-residents.

Beginning Golf for ages 5-9 will be offered July 14-17 from 9 a.m. to noon. The course uses the SNAG (Starting New at Golf) coaching system and equipment. Cost is $115 for city residents; $120 for school district residents.

One-week play camps for ages 3-5 and elementary school-age children are offered. Camp for ages 3-5 will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 14-18. Day-long camp for elementary school-age children will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 21-25. Cost is $30 for city residents; $35 for school district residents.

Online registration for programs and classes of the Hilliard Recreation and Parks Department is now available. Residents must first fill out a "Residency Verification Form" online at www.cityofhilliard.com or at the community center and bring the form along with proof of residency to the center. The department will then provide you with a user name and password needed to register online within 72 hours.

Pool memberships are also available online.

Swimming lessons are offered to city resident pool members for $25 and to non-city pool members for $30. Non-members who are residents of the city of Hilliard can register for $35; non-resident non-member cost is $40.
