The Ohio division of the American Cancer Society is offering $1,000 scholarships to young Ohio cancer survivors entering college in the 2009-2010 academic year.

The Ohio division of the American Cancer Society is offering $1,000 scholarships to young Ohio cancer survivors entering college in the 2009-2010 academic year.

Applications are now available online at www.cancer.org/ ohiogrants. All applicants must be residents of Ohio, United States citizens, diagnosed with cancer before age 21 and under the age of 25 at the time of application. They must also plan to attend an accredited university or community college in the United States.

All scholarships will be awarded by a volunteer scholarship review committee and will be based on scholastic performance, community service and leadership.

Due to funding limitations, scholarships are not available to all who apply.

The scholarship program is made possible through proceeds from Relay for Life.
