Two local Dignity Memorial providers are participating in a drive to benefit the Mid-Ohio Foodbank as part of the annual Operation Feed project.

Residents can drop off food items between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus, and at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W. Broad St., Galloway, through May 25.

The goal is to fill three 50-foot semi-trailers.

Needed items include canned pasta meals, peanut butter, canned fruit, tuna, soup, canned vegetables and canned meat. All donations go to feed hungry people in central Ohio.

The fifth annual Clean Air Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, outside Nationwide Arena at Front Street and Nationwide Boulevard. Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) is the event sponsor.

From May through September, warm temperatures and sunshine increase ozone pollution levels in central Ohio. Downtown employees are invited to learn about ways to improve air quality and check out the latest hybrid vehicles.

Fair participants can enjoy free ice cream and music from CD101, as well as participate in prize drawings. One of the prizes is a new bike from Cyclist Connection.

At noon, MORPC will recognize four local groups with Clean Air Awards. They are the Columbus City Schools' transportation and fleet services departments; Jeff Stephens, executive director of Consider Biking; the Green Energy Center at the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio; and the Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research.
