The new spring and summer program brochure is available at the community center or online at www.cityofhilliard.com. Registration is currently under way for all programs, swim lessons and camps. Online registration is available for those with a current user name and password.

The department has sponsored a preschool program since 1978, which is licensed through the state of Ohio. The program aims to encourage social, physical and academic growth. Children learn the basics of socialization and make friends in a structured learning environment. All children must be potty trained. A registration fee of $25 per child and verification of residency in the Hilliard City School District are required to register.

A free rain garden workshop will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at the Phyllis A. Ernst Senior Center, 3810 Veterans Memorial Drive. Join Franklin Soil & Water Conservation District and the city of Hilliard to learn what rain gardens are, their benefits and how to install one. A cost-share grant is available to residents of Hilliard city limits as reimbursement for the purchase of plants, mulch or compost for a rain garden on your residential property. The department will offer a new "Stiletto Boot Camp for Women" beginning June 1. The four week program emphasizes women's health and fitness through improving cardiovascular endurance, weight loss and muscle toning workouts. Save the dates for the following summer activities at the Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park. "Touch-a-Truck" will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 2. "Splash Into Summer" from 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 13. Enjoy a ducky derby, giant water tag game, dunk tank, inflatables, performances by Mrs. Sparkles and much more.

The department will sponsor RU FIT? this summer. The program kicks off Saturday, June 13, and ends Saturday, Aug. 1. Pick up an activity record and fill it in for a chance to win prizes along the way. Stop at the RU FIT? tent at Splash Into Summer event June 13 to pick up a registration packet.
