Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church will host a Fourth of July Celebration beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at 3500 Main St.

The event is free and community members are welcome to attend. Children can enjoy a bounce house and face painting. The group Swerve will perform, and local musicians will also provide entertainment. Food will be available.

Guests are invited to stay and watch the fireworks.

Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church, 4343 Dublin Road, will host Vacation Bible School from July 20-24.

This year's theme will be "Camp Edge." Campers will enjoy an extreme adventure into God's word through music, games, crafts, Bible stories and more.

Sessions meet from 9 a.m. to noon or 6 to 9 p.m.

Hilliard Presbyterian Church will hold a dedication service to celebrate the completion of its new sanctuary and remodeled building at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at 3600 Leap Road.

Rev. Jim Browne will officiate the service, and many area pastors and members of the Scioto Valley Presbytery will attend. The public is welcome.

There will be a reception in the Fellowship Hall following the service, as well as an opportunity to tour the building.

The church began the building project in June 2008. The project added a new sanctuary, as well as additional classrooms and meeting space.
