Center members will travel to Dayton, Ky., for an all-day riverboat cruise to Rising Sun, Ind. Cruise features a full lunch and musical entertainment, as well as games of bingo and trivia. After arriving in Indiana, the trip will include an overnight stay at Grand Victoria Casino and Resort. On the way home, enjoy a hot breakfast, followed by lunch and shopping at the Cincinnati Premium Outlet Mall. The trip is scheduled for Sept. 14-15. Double occupancy fee is $211, with single, triple and quad rooming rate options. The deadline to register is July 30.

Seniors can take tennis lessons this summer. A teaching pro will instruct members at an individual pace. Cost is $8 a week, plus a $2 registration fee. Classes will be held at 8 a.m. Fridays, June 11- Aug. 7.

The Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP) provides free information and other health services to people covered by Medicare. An OSHIIP representative is available at the center at 1 p.m. the third Thursday of each month. If you are in need of insurance assistance, call the center to schedule an appointment.

The Hilliard Caregiver Support Group, for caregivers of those with Alzheimer's disease, meets regularly at 9:30 a.m. the third Friday of each month at the center.

The Happiness Club luncheon is held at noon the second Friday of each month. Open to all senior citizens, including non-members of the center. Advance registration is due by 4 p.m. the preceding Tuesday. Cost is $4. Enjoy a home cooked meal and entertainment. Call to register.

An open studio is available from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Fridays. Artists can bring drawings or paintings to work on and meet other artists. No fee; bring your own supplies.

Various exercise opportunities are available to members of the senior center. Classes include water aerobics, walking, Tai Chi, general fitness, line dancing, bowling, corn hole and Zumba gold. Classes meet at 3 p.m. Mondays, with a fee of $2 per day.

The center is a collection point for food donations to the Hilliard Welfare Society. Drop off non-perishable donations between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some weekend and evening hours are available. Call to arrange an alternate time.

Nominations are currently being accepted for the Hilliard Senior Citizen Hall of Fame. Up to two honorees (one living and one posthumous) will be selected for induction on Oct. 3, 2010. Nominations may be made by completing a form available at the center. The deadline for nominations is Aug. 1. Nominees must be at least 65 years of age.

The center is accepting donations to be sent overseas to our military service personnel through June 16. Collected items will be given to the Buckeye Blue Star Mothers organization. A list of suggested items is available at the center. Monetary donations to aid with shipping will also be accepted. The cost to ship each box is $10.70.
