Hope George of Hilliard has been selected to receive 1902 Leadership Circle scholarships from Franklin University.

This is the inaugural presentation of these awards, which provide a scholarship of $4,000 to apply toward this year's tuition. The scholarships are given to Franklin undergraduate or graduate students who have made a positive impact on the economic and/or social good for their local communities by displaying drive, tenacity, and an entrepreneurial spirit similar to that of the university's namesake, Benjamin Franklin.

George received the "Benjamin Franklin trait: Aspiring to be harmonious" award.

A single mother, George has consistently strived to improve her own situation while helping others as well, from her start with a trucking company that allowed her to improve their safety program, to improving access for patients needing mammograms through an outpatient imaging facility she managed, to marketing the mobile mammogram program that resulted in the tripling of the number of mobile units available.
