• The center will be closed Sept. 3-11 for cleaning and painting, and Monday, Oct. 10, in observance of Columbus.

• Check out the Fall/Winter edition of the PLAY program and activity guide for additional senior information, programs and special community events.

• The Hilliard Park Café is open for lunch at noon Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Reservations are required by 4 p.m. the day before. $4 for members and $6 for non-members. Pick up a menu in the office or view online. A grand reopening will be held Sept. 13, with liver and onions on the menu.

• A fundraiser chicken noodle dinner will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15. Joy Hoffman is making chicken and noodles, which will be served along with mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce and homemade pies. Tickets are $7. All proceeds benefit the Hilliard Happiness Club.

• A prayer luncheon is held at noon the last Friday of the month. Cost is $4. An area minister presents a short message. Reservations are due the day before.

• Carriage Court hosts a "Dine and Discover" luncheon, with a speaker, at 11:30 a.m. the third Friday of the month. Register in advance, space is limited.

• A back-to-school luncheon will be held today (Thursday, Sept. 1). Participants will re-live the first day at school at Senior Center High and enjoy a school-inspired lunch, cafeteria style. Those attending are asked to bring a photo from their school days.

• Get together for dessert, cards, puzzles, games and more during Dessert Nights, scheduled for Sept. 1 and 15. Register by 4 p.m. the preceding day. Cost of $2 is payable the night of the event.

• Premier Chiropractic will visit the center from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, to provide chair massages. Advance registration is required.

• A series of Friday Flicks begins Sept. 23 with a screening of "Jane Eyre."

• Zumba Gold class resumes at 3 p.m. Mondays beginning Sept. 19. The fee is $2 per class.
