Hilliard City Council at its Monday, April 23, meeting adopted a battery of ordinances, 11 in all, authorizing the issuance of bonds to fund a variety of capital-improvement projects and purchases.

Hilliard City Council at its Monday, April 23, meeting adopted a battery of ordinances, 11 in all, authorizing the issuance of bonds to fund a variety of capital-improvement projects and purchases.

A 12th ordinance authorized the finance director to consolidate the 11 bond issues into a single bond issue.

The capital improvement projects include $277,000 for the purchase of light trucks and police cruisers; $181,000 for computer soft-

ware and hardware; $75,000 for police vests and weapons; $229,000 for stormwater system improvements; $240,000 for HVAC and electrical improvements; $165,000 for construction of a pedestrian bridge for the Scioto Nature Trail and other recreational improvements; and $1.2 million for multiple street-improvement projects.

Two of the 11 ordinances refinanced bonds, including $7.3 million for the construction of a portion of Trueman Boulevard in 2005 and $4 million for various purpose bonds first issued in 2003.
