Franklin County Commissioner John O’Grady spoke July 12 at 4143 Main St. in Hilliard during the opening of a re-election campaign office for President Barack Obama.

The Organizing for America campaign office is the latest to open in central Ohio, and the state generally is viewed as a battleground state vital to Obama and his opponent, Republican candidate Mitt Romney. Romney has opened similar campaign offices in central Ohio, including a Delaware County office last week at 8489 Sancus Blvd. in Columbus.

The Hilliard office will serve as a community hub for 2012 election activities, joining similar offices on the campus of the Ohio State University, near state Route 161 and in Whitehall.

“This office opening in just the latest step in building up on infrastructure across Ohio as election season ramps up,” a campaign spokesperson said in the press release.
