The Hilliard school board is scheduled to meet Thursday, Sept. 27, and Friday, Sept. 28, after the regularly scheduled Sept. 24 meeting was canceled.
The pair of special meetings constitute the board's annual planning retreat and replace the canceled meeting.
Board members will convene at 6 p.m. Sept. 27 for a special meeting at the district's support services building on Atlas Street, south of Hilliard. Members will tour the facility before beginning a special business meeting at 7:15 p.m.
Among the items on the board's agenda Sept. 27 are second readings of several policy revisions and consideration of the district's annual budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013.
Board members and the administration also plan to discuss two of the district's three capital-improvements plan goals.
These include assessing and implementing operational updates that address the needs of students and the facilities that house students; and assisting community members in understanding school finances, said Amanda Morris, district spokeswoman.
Board members will reconvene at 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the administrative building annex on Scioto Darby Road.
Scheduled discussion includes a third capital-improvements plan goal, that of increasing student achievement through effective curriculum design and instructional best practices, Morris said.
