Arson fire in vehicle causes $1,000 in damages

Hilliard police reported a vehicle was set on fire at 7 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 4600 block of Crystal Ball Drive.

The arson burned the upholstery of the vehicle, causing damages estimated at $1,000.

In other recent Hilliard Division of Police incident reports:

* Police reported a breaking and entering at 8 a.m. Nov. 25 at a tavern in the 4000 block of East Main Street. A safe containing $5,000 was stolen.

* Police reported a vehicle was vandalized Nov. 21 in the 3500 block of Scioto Run Boulevard.

* A cutting instrument was used to damage a lawn inflatable Nov. 22 in the 4800 block of Brixston Drive.

* A mailbox was reported vandalized at 5 p.m. Nov. 20 in the 3300 block of Darby Glen Boulevard.

* Property damage was reported at 5 p.m. Nov. 19 in the 4300 block of Reynolds Drive.

* A computer tablet was reported stolen at 2 p.m. Nov. 18 from a vehicle in the 3700 block of Park Mill Run Drive. Entry was forced, causing damage in the amount of $1,200.

* Police reported a wallet was stolen at 10 a.m. Nov. 19 from a vehicle in the 4400 block of Cemetery Road. Loss is reported at $141.

* Two mailboxes were reported vandalized about 7 p.m. Nov. 21 in the 4500 and 4600 blocks of Dirham Lane.

* Police arrested a 28-year-old man for OVI at 2:30 a.m. Nov. 21 in the 2700 block of Alton Darby Creek Road.

* Rolled chain link fencing and several vehicle parts, all worth $830, were reported stolen at 1:55 a.m. Nov. 19 from the 4900 block of Scioto Darby Road.

* Credit cards and money were reported stolen from a purse 2:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at Beacon Elementary School, 3600 Lacon Road. Loss was reported at $205.

* A GPS unit was reported stolen at 9 p.m. Nov. 17 from the 4700 block of Prince Charles Way.

* Police arrested a 19-year-old woman for drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:15 p.m. Nov. 15 at Avery Road and King Albert Drive.

* Police arrested a 49-year-old man for OVI, child endangering, and unlawful restraint at 7:25 p.m. Nov. 18 on Interstate 270 South. He was intoxicated, had a 4-year-old child in the car and refused to stop and let a woman, who had asked that he stop, out of the vehicle, police said.

* A 33-year-old man was arrested for OVI at 2:25 a.m. Nov. 18 at Hilliard-Rome and Tinapple roads.

* Police arrested a 48-year-old man for OVI at 2:30 a.m. Nov. 17 at Scioto Darby and Bradford roads.

* Police arrested a 27-year-old man for OVI, traffic violations and an active warrant at 3:15 a.m. Nov. 15 at Cemetery Road and Brown Park Drive.

* A shovel and two hand trucks were reported stolen at 11:55 p.m. Nov. 16 from a business in the 4900 block of Scioto Darby Road.

* An iPod was reported stolen at 10:10 a.m. Nov. 15 from Hilliard Heritage Middle School, 5670 Scioto-Darby Road.

* A laptop computer and tablet were reported stolen at 2 p.m. Nov. 17 from a locked vehicle in the 3600 block of Park Mill Run Drive. Property loss was reported $2,620 and damages were estimated at $500.

* Police arrested a 22-year-old man for possession of drug paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 22 at Scioto Darby Road and Bradford Drive.

* Police arrested a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy for possession of drug paraphernalia and underage consumption of alcohol at 12:45 a.m. Nov. 22 at Cemetery Road and Trueman Boulevard.

* Police arrested a 28-year-old woman for OVI at 2:20 a.m. Nov. 26 at Leppert and Scioto Darby roads.

* A 25-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at 1 a.m. Nov. 26 at Cemetery Road and Lyman Drive.

* Police arrested a 27-year-old man for possession of narcotics at 2:40 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 3600 block of Heywood Drive.

* A 21-year-old man was arrested for possession of narcotics at 7 p.m. Nov. 23 in the 4600 block of Avery Road.

* Police arrested a 24-year-old man for OVI at 3:20 a.m. Nov. 25 at Walcutt Road and Springdale Boulevard.

Columbus police

* Columbus police reported $2,500 was stolen between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Nov. 19 from a residence in the 2300 block of Walborn Drive.

* Keys and a cellphone were reported stolen between 1:15 and 2 p.m. Nov. 20 from the 3700 block of Ridgemill Drive.

* An iPad was reported stolen Nov. 24 from a vehicle in the 1700 block of Hilliard-Rome Road.

* Police reported a person assaulted a 10-year-old girl, striking her in the face, at 3 p.m. Nov. 21 in the 5900 block of Cape Coral Lane.

* Prescription oxycodone was reported stolen between 9 and 11 p.m. Nov. 18 from a residence in the 5600 block of Farmhouse Lane.
