The Hilliard Division of Police added two new officers to its ranks Dec. 26.

Officers Dustin Vance and Austin Vogelsang began field training the same day. Both were among the graduates of the 128th Basic Peace Officer Training Class at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy.

Vance and Vogelsang graduated Dec. 21 from the 18-week program designed to prepare students for a law-enforcement career. The academy trains officers for service to municipal, county and state law-enforcement agencies.

Vance was recognized at the academy as the class "Top Shot," and was honored for achieving the highest score in firearms among all the members of the class.
