The Norwich Township Fire Department and Hilliard Division of Police are investigating a fire that occurred Jan. 16 at a residence at 3239 Scioto Farms Drive.
Hilliard police received a 911 call at 7:34 p.m. Jan. 16 from a neighbor who reported the fire at the residence. Norwich Township firefighters responded to the call and rescued a woman and two animals from inside the residence.
Firefighters found the 52-year-old woman in a first-floor bedroom, Norwich Fire Chief Bob Kaufman said.
The woman was unresponsive and transported to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where she remained in the intensive care unit, Kaufman said last week.
A cat and dog also were removed from the residence. The dog was taken to an area veterinarian's office for treatment.
The fire originated in the first-floor living room but the cause of the fire remains under investigation, Kaufman said.
