The Westerville Board of Education announced last week that it had narrowed its superintendent search to three candidates: Steve Estepp, Hilliard City Schools executive director of K-12 curriculum and instruction; John Kellogg, South-Western City Schools assistant superintendent of curriculum; and John Stanford, Columbus City Schools deputy superintendent.
Estepp has worked as a teacher in Dublin City Schools, program manager in Newark City Schools, assistant principal of Hilliard Davidson High School, principal of Weaver Middle School and director of secondary education in Hilliard City Schools.
He earned a bachelor's degree in English education from the Ohio State University. He also has a master's degree in education administration, and has completed the Superintendent Licensure Program at Ohio State.
The candidates will be subject to a daylong interview process Jan. 31, meeting during the day with several constituents groups and learning about different aspects of district operations and academics.
There will be a public forum from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. that evening at Westerville South High School, 303 S. Otterbein Ave.
Former Westerville board president Kevin Hoffman has said the board plans to name a new superintendent in early February.
