Hilliard: Boy arrested for having knife at school

Hilliard police last week responded to several incidents, one of which involved a weapon, at local school buildings.

Officers arrested a 13-year-old boy for having a knife in a school safety zone at 11:30 a.m. March 20 at Hilliard Memorial Middle School, 5600 Scioto Darby Road.

On March 18, an iPod was reported stolen at 2:30 p.m. from the middle school.

Three days later, on March 21, shoes were reported stolen from a locker at Hilliard Darby High School, 4200 Leppert Road, and a wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle at Hilliard Davidson High School, 5100 Davidson Road. Loss was reported at $188.

In other recent incident reports from the Hilliard Division of Police:

* A man told police a person he knows assaulted him at 8:30 a.m. March 15 in the 5100 block of Drivemere Road.

* A garage and vehicle were reported vandalized at 5 p.m. March 18 in the 370 block of Heywood Drive.

* Police arrested a 20-year-old man for possession of drug paraphernalia at 10:30 p.m. March 16 at Main and Norwich streets.

* Two 18-year-old men were arrested on drug-related charges, including possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, at 7:30 p.m. March 15 at Britton Parkway and Davidson Road.

* Police arrested a 21-year-old man for drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia at 5:15 a.m. March 15 in the 4500 block of Earman Drive.

* A wallet was reported stolen at 11:30 a.m. March 18 from the 6200 block of Meadow Wood Lane.

* Police arrested a 19-year-old man on drug-related charges at 5:50 p.m. March 17 at Leap Road and Midlane Drive.

* Police reported March 20 that a vehicle damaged soccer fields in the 6300 block of Scioto Darby Road. A vehicle was driven on the fields. Damage was reported $500.

* A 25-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at 10:05 p.m. March 19 in the 4200 block of Cemetery Road.

* A man told police $570 was stolen March 19 from his business in the 5300 block of Center Street.

* Police arrested a 28-year-old woman for theft at 2:30 a.m. March 19 at a business in the 5300 block of Center Street. The woman, an employee, allegedly gave away alcohol at the establishment.

* Police arrested a 36-year-old man for burglary at 1:15 a.m. March 24 in the 4600 block of Crystal Clear Drive. The man forcibly entered a residence and assaulted a juvenile, police said. He also was charged with OVI.

* A vehicle was reported vandalized at 11 p.m. March 23 in the 5700 block of Barbara Drive.

* Police arrested an 18-year-old woman for possession of drug paraphernalia and an 18-year-old man for possession of drugs at 8:25 p.m. March 23 in the 4700 block of Cemetery Road.

* A 17-year-old boy was arrested for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia at Midlane Drive and Hillcrest Street East.

* Police arrested a 23-year-old man for possession of marijuana at 1:25 a.m. March 23 at Davidson Road and Trueman Boulevard.

* An 18-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at 3:40 a.m. March 22 at Davidson Road and Britton Parkway.

* Police arrested an 18-year-old man for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia at 12:10 a.m. March 22 at Scioto Darby and Leppert roads.

* A 20-year-old man was arrested at 10:20 p.m. March 21 for possession of drug paraphernalia at Strider Lane and Benbrook Pond Drive.

* Four brake drums were reported stolen March 21 from a business in the 4000 block of Lyman Drive.

* An iPad was reported stolen March 22 from the 4100 block of Trueman Boulevard.

Columbus Division of Police

Columbus police responded to multiple reports of vandalized vehicles last week.

On March 25, a vehicle in the 5900 block of Pinto Pass Drive was reported vandalized.

Two tires were reported flattened between 9 p.m. March 20 and 7 a.m. March 21on vehicles in the 2900 block of Lake Hollow Road.

A vehicle also was reported vandalized between midnight and 4 a.m. March 21 in the 3200 block of Andrew James Drive.

In other recent incident reports from the Columbus Division of Police:

* A purse was reported stolen March 19 from a vehicle in the 5400 block of Renner Road.

* Shoes, a compact disc player and $44 in cash were reported stolen March 19 from a vehicle in the 5900 block of Vero Drive.
