Tidd Family Camp-Out

Bring your sleeping bags and tents (no RVs or campers) to the Family Camp Out and sleep under the stars in Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park. This fun-filled sleepover includes the movie Finding Nemo, a Dutch auction, a scavenger hunt, a horse-drawn hay ride, a group sing-a-long and a fishing derby.

The camp-out will be from 6 p.m., Friday, July 19 to 8 a.m., Saturday, July 20, at Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park Lake. The cost is $5 per person with a maximum of $25 per family, which includes all activities, an evening snack and a light breakfast the next morning. Youth 18 and younger must be accompanied by an adult 21 years of age or older. Register the day of the event.

Splash Days

* Swim Smart Party

Learn about water safety in a fun, safe atmosphere from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 26, at the Hilliard Family Aquatic Center. Enjoy the sounds of the KPS Band and pick up some goodies and information on "Swim Smart. Saves Lives," the water safety education program.

* On Saturday, June 15, at the Hilliard Family Aquatic Center, a concert will feature Crescent Fresh from 2 to 4 p.m. and a Duckie Derby at 7 p.m. Purchase a duck to race around the lazy river.Proceeds benefit Patches of Light.

At 9:15 p.m. a dive-in movie -- Rise of the Guardians -- will be screened. The pool will be free beginning at 9 p.m.

* On, Saturday, Aug. 3, the East Pool will have Super Games Inflatables from 3 to 7 p.m., a concert featuring Eileen Howard from 4 to 6 p.m. and a dive-in movie, The Lorax, at 9 p.m. No charge to get into the dive-in movie beginning at 9 p.m.

2 Scoops From the Fridge at Heather Ridge

Join the parks and recreation department for an afternoon of fun and free ice cream at Heather Ridge Park. Recreation and Parks Department staff members coordinate outdoor activities including the Buckeye Mobile Tour while dishing up ice cream treats. The event is from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, at Heather Ridge Park, 4833 Hawkstone in the Heather Ridge subdivision.

4th of July in Hilliard

The parade begins at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 4. Awards will be presented at 5:30 p.m.

Parrots of the Caribbean will perform in Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park beginning at 6 p.m. Get Your Ride on with carnival rides and food vendors in Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park. Fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m.

H-Town Throw Down Disc Golf Tourney

The second annual disc golf tourney is set for 3:30 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 19. Tee times are not required; however, pre-registration is recommended.

3:30 p.m., 55 and over; 4 p.m., ages 10-16; and 4:45 p.m., ages 17 and up. Sponsored by Play it Again Sports and Skyline Chili.
