Norwich Township: Life-insurance provider switch saves $12K
The Norwich Township trustees on July 2 agreed to switch life-insurance providers and refund the purchase price of several plots at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Upon the recommendation of Norwich Township Administrator Kate Cavanaugh, the trustees opted to switch to Lincoln Financial from Standard Insurance for life-insurance policies.
The switch to Lincoln Financial, effective Sept. 1 for a term of two years, will save the township about $12,000, Cavanaugh said.
For the cemetery plots, the trustees routinely reacquire plots for the price the buyer paid at the point of purchase.
The plots are returned to the inventory and can be resold at current prices.
In other business July 2, township officials reported crack-sealing and resurfacing of interior roads and paths at Wesley Chapel Cemetery is underway and about half complete.
Norwich Township Fire Chief Bob Kaufman also advised trustees the session was the last for Assistant Fire Chief John King, who retired July 9.
