The Hilliard Division of Police and the Norwich Township Fire Department will honor the nation's police officers and firefighters and memorialize those killed 12 years ago in the terrorists attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at First Responders Park, at the corner of Main and Center streets in Old Hilliard.

Mayor Don Schonhardt, Police Chief Doug Francis and Norwich Township Fire Chief Bob Kaufman are scheduled to speak.

Honor guards from the Hilliard Division of Police and the Norwich Township Fire Department also are expected to participate.

In the past three years, about 75 to 100 people have attended the ceremony, first held at the dedication of the park Sept. 11, 2010.
