Families for a Cure second annual Charity Ride, noon Sept. 14, starting at Roosters, 5525 Nike Station, Hilliard. Registration of motorcycles and cars begins at 10:30 a.m. All entrants will leave at noon with all due to return at 5 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three hands. Cost is $20 per motorcycle or car. Participants also can enter a raffle for a 2013 Harley Davidson Sportster Iron 883 from C&A Harley Davidson. Cost is $20 per ticket or six for $100. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold. If all tickets are not sold, there will be a 50-50 drawing. Proceeds will benefit Families for a Cure, a charity that supports cancer research. The 2013 Columbus Fall Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 21, at St. Agatha Church's Parish Hall, 1860 Northam Road. The event will feature nearly 100 artists and crafters selling their original handmade items. These vendors sell unique items that range from jewelry and candles to repurposed furniture and yard art. City of Hilliard's fifth annual Fall Festival, 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 22, at Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park. Children and adults of all ages are invited to attend this free event featuring live entertainment from Agent 99, as well as a performance by Mouth of the Wolfe Productions, a child-friendly theater program. Additional activities include: crafts, a farmers market, COSI on Wheels, hay rides, a petting zoo, make-your-own apple cider, pick-your-own pumpkin for $1 and performances by square dancers. Patches of Light, a Hilliard-based charity that assists families of critically and terminally ill children, also will hold its annual Piggy Bank Drive at the event. Christ Child Society of Columbus, annual Red Wagon Fare luncheon, 10:30 a.m. Oct. 16, at the Villa Milano Banquet and Conference Center, 1630 Schrock Road. The event features a luncheon, a boutique of vendors from Central Ohio, Christ Child Society sweets, baked goods and crafts, as well as a style show provided by Chico's from the Shops at Worthington Place and Belles and Beaux Children's Boutique. Proceeds support the projects of the Christ Child Society. This year, Project Starfish, a tuition assistance program for the Christ Child-Child Care Center at St. Stephens Community House will be the focus of the event.
