The women's chorus at Hilliard Darby High School is one of seven invited to perform Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Women's Chorus Festival on the campus of the Ohio State University.
The choirs are scheduled to perform beginning at 3 p.m. at Weigel Hall, 1800 College Road. The concert is free and open to the public.
The seven choirs will perform individually, but a joint performance is planned at the conclusion of the show.
Other central Ohio women's choirs scheduled to perform are from Bexley and Worthington Kilbourne high schools. Choirs from the Little Miami, Medina, Rocky River and Strongsville school districts round out the group.
Kristina MacMullen, assistant director of choral activities at Ohio State, issued personal invitations to the performing choirs.
"I'm excited for our kids to get to hear other quality choirs, especially at Ohio State and at a venue with such excellent acoustics," said Mike Martin, director of choral activities at Darby High School.
Darby was selected, Martin said, based on its reputation of excellence.
Darby's performance will be the choir's first at this particular Ohio State University event.
In addition to performing, Darby students will participate in a choral clinic with Ohio State faculty members.
