American Legion Memorial Post 614 will conduct its Veterans Day parade Monday, Nov. 11, through Old Hilliard and past First Responders Park.

The parade will step off at 7 p.m. from the Joint Safety Services Building, 5181 Northwest Parkway.

It will proceed on Main Street to Scioto Darby Road, then west on Scioto Darby to Veterans Memorial Drive. It will conclude at the veterans memorial inside Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park, 3800 Veterans Memorial Drive.

Units from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4931 and honor guards from the Hilliard Division of Police and the Norwich Township Fire Department are scheduled to march. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office mounted unit also is expected to participate.

Also on Veterans Day, the Post 614 Ladies' Auxiliary will present its 28th annual dinner.

The community meal includes ham-and-bean soup and cornbread.

For the first time, the Hilliard United Methodist Church, 5445 Scioto Darby Road, will host the free meal from noon to 8 p.m.

Donations for meals will be accepted to benefit the Gifts for Yanks program, providing Christmas gifts for Ohio veterans hospitalized at VA hospitals, mental-health facilities and the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky.
