Events and programs

Fifteenth annual Spaghetti Dinner, fundraiser for the Hilliard Davidson High School girls lacrosse team, 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 25, in the high school commons, 5100 Davidson Road. Dinner includes spaghetti with meat or vegetarian sauce, salad, roll, drink and cake. Carryout is available. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $7 or from any team member. The dinner is offered in conjunction with a production of The Odd Couple at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Tickets for the show also are available at the door.

Veterans Appreciation Event, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Hilliard Memorial Post 4931 Veterans of Foreign Wars, 2436 Walcutt Road. There will be free haircuts for all veterans, male and female, courtesy of the Ohio Independent Cosmetologists and Barbers Association and Ohio John Amico Stylists. There will be refreshments, such as food, coffee and soft drinks. Donations of winter clothing is being accepted, such as hats, gloves, coats, socks, sweaters and blankets. Teleperformance, collection of shoes for Soles4Souls, through Jan. 31, at 4339 Equity Dr. Donations of gently worn shoes will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Columbus Avant-Garde Art and Craft Show, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 8, at St. Agatha's Parish Hall, 1860 Northam Road. Featured items include paintings, rustic home decor, glass lawn art, fabric pottery and jewelry. Admission is $3, free for children under age 12. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Hope Hollow, offering lodging that supports patients, families and friends affected by cancer. Parking is free. Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association, 35th annual conference, Affirming Our Roots, Breaking New Ground, Feb. 14-16, at the Granville Middle and High schools. The event will feature keynote sessions with Kathleen Merrigan and Atina Diffley; more than 100 educational workshops; two in-depth pre-conference events; a trade show; and locally-sourced and organic homemade meals. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Classes, workshops

Credit Union of Ohio, free, teen-focused financial workshop, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 3 at its Hilliard branch, 5500 Britton Parkway. The workshop will cover topics to help teens, including how to balance a check book, manage a checking account, create a budget and protect their identity.
