Hilliard: Burglary results in second-degree felony charge

Hilliard police officers arrested Andrew D. Johnson, 24, of Cherry Glen Drive in Powell, for burglary at 8:55 p.m. Feb. 22 after he reportedly entered a residence without permission in the 3900 block of Hill Park Road East.

Johnson is charged with taking jewelry and an electronic tablet. The items, worth $323, were recovered, police said.

Narcotics also were discovered and impounded, according Hilliard police reports.

Johnson was charged with a second-degree felony. He was arraigned Feb. 24 and has a preliminary hearing March 4 in Franklin County Municipal Court.

In other recent incident reports from the Hilliard Division of Police:

* A burglary was reported at noon Feb. 17 at a residence in the 3500 block of Lacon Road. A camera and lens worth $600 was reported stolen.

* Two gold coins worth $3,480 were reported stolen Feb. 20 from a residence in the 4000 block of Carlton Court.

* Copper HVAC lines worth $1,200 were reported stolen at 5 p.m. Feb. 18 from a residence under construction in the 4100 block of Britton Parkway. Damage caused from removing the copper pipes was reported at $2,400.

* Items worth $1,698 were reported stolen at 5 p.m. Feb. 17 from a vehicle in the 3600 block of Park Mill Run Drive.

* A laptop computer was reported stolen at 11:50 a.m. Feb. 20 from the media center at Scioto Darby Elementary School, 5380 Scioto Darby Road.

* Police reported a wallet was stolen at 1 a.m. Feb. 17 from a vehicle in the 4800 block of Pondloop Drive. A window was broken to gain entry to the vehicle, police said.

* A wallet was reported stolen at 1:45 p.m. Feb. 20 from the 4300 block of All Seasons Drive.

* A briefcase, electronic tablet and money were reported stolen at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 19 from a vehicle in the 4600 block of Strayer Drive. Property loss was reported at $500.

* Stereo equipment worth $1,300 was reported stolen at 12:30 a.m. Feb. 17 from a vehicle in the 4800 block of Trailpath Drive. Damage was reported at $2,000.

* A license plate was reported stolen at 7 a.m. Feb. 19 from a vehicle in the 5800 block of Scioto Darby Road.

* A commercial laptop computer was reported stolen at 5 p.m. Feb. 17 from an unlocked vehicle in the 6100 block of Lampton Pond Drive.

* Police arrested a 29-year-old man for trafficking in marijuana at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 20 in the 4800 block of Jeannette Road.

 

Columbus police

* A video-game console and mini refrigerator were reported stolen between 3 and 4:30 p.m. Feb. 22 from a residence in the 5900 block of Cape Coral Lane, Columbus police reported.

* A 21-year-old woman reported a threat from a person she knows to Columbus police at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 22 in the 5200 block of Westpointe Plaza Drive.
