Hilliard: 12-year-old boy accused of shooting arrow at girl

Hilliard police arrested a 12-year-old boy at 7:20 p.m. March 14 for felonious assault after he reportedly used a bow and a metal-tipped arrow to shoot at a 12-year-old girl in the 520 block of Crescent Court.

The girl sustained a laceration below her right eye, police said.

The felonious assault charge indicates the weapon had the ability to be lethal, police said.

The report did not indicate the relationship between the boy and the girl, nor if they were acquainted.

The boy will be referred to juvenile court.

In other recent incident reports from the Hilliard Division of Police:

* A 29-year-old man was arrested at 6:50 p.m. March 15 for misuse of 911 after he allegedly placed a false 911 call to lure police away from Home Depot, 4101 Trueman Blvd.

Police arrested a 21-year-old man for theft at the same location.

The 29-year-old made the call hoping officers would leave the scene to respond and not take the shoplifter into custody, police said.

* A vehicle worth $3,000 was reported stolen at 7:30 a.m. March 14 from the 4800 block of Rays Circle.

* A 26-year-old woman was arrested at 8:50 p.m. March 20 for possession of drug-abuse instruments on Interstate 270 South.

* A window was reported broken at 8 a.m. March 18 in the 5600 block of Congressional Place.

* A 17-year-old girl reported a known person assaulted her at 7:30 p.m. March 11 in the 1800 block of Hickory Hill Drive.

* A 21-year-old man was arrested at 12:15 p.m. March 13 for trafficking in drugs in the 4600 block of Point Pleasant Drive.

* Two firearms and clothes, all worth a total of $1,205, were reported stolen at 3:45 p.m. March 15 in the 4400 block of Sherwood Drive.

* Items were reported stolen at 8 a.m. March 17 from a book bag at Hilliard Davidson High School, 5100 Davidson Road.

* Items were reported stolen at 11 p.m. March 12 from an unlocked vehicle in the 5900 block of Heritage View Court.

* Items were reported stolen at 7 p.m. March 11 from a vehicle in the 3600 block of Park Mill Run Drive.

* A license plate was reported stolen at 7 a.m. March 17 from a vehicle in the 3700 block of Confluence Drive.

* Police arrested a 44-year-old man at 12:40 p.m. March 14 for trespassing in the 4400 block of Trailane Drive.
